Who operates BookaJob

BookaJob is operated by Christopher Laidlaw, a sole trader in Australia (ABN 73 534 083 065), registered for GST, trading under the marketplace name BookaJob. BookaJob is not a separate company.

You can contact the operator through BookaJob support at bookajobsupport@bookajob.au or by sending a support request through the app.

1. What BookaJob is

BookaJob is an online marketplace that connects customers with independent local service providers. Providers are not employees or agents of BookaJob.

To the extent permitted by law, BookaJob does not perform the services and the agreement for the work is between you and the provider.

2. Posting a job

Describe your job accurately, including any hazards, access issues or special requirements.

Do not post jobs that are illegal, unsafe or prohibited on the platform.

3. Choosing a provider

You choose which offer to accept. Provider profiles show the information available to us, including ratings and any verification an admin has approved. Unless clearly shown, licences and insurance have not been checked by BookaJob.

For licensed work (for example electrical or plumbing), you should confirm the provider's licence with the relevant state regulator.

4. Fees and payment

When you confirm a provider you pay the service price plus a customer booking fee. Current fees are shown before you pay.

Payments are processed by Stripe. BookaJob does not store your card details.

BookaJob is registered for GST, and BookaJob's own fees (such as the customer booking fee) include GST where it applies. The service price is set by the provider; whether it includes GST depends on the provider's own registration, and you should ask the provider if you need a tax invoice for their work.

5. Cancellations and no-shows

Cancellations and no-show reports are handled under the Cancellation Policy. A 5% cancellation fee applies to whoever cancels a confirmed booking, to the extent permitted by law, subject to review of exceptions.

6. Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Keep communication and payment on BookaJob

To protect both sides, please do not arrange payment off the platform for jobs found on BookaJob.

8. Complaints

If something goes wrong, contact the provider first where it is safe to do so, then contact BookaJob support at bookajobsupport@bookajob.au or through a support request. We will review the job, messages and payment records.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you may contact the consumer protection agency (Fair Trading or Consumer Affairs) in your state or territory.
