Who operates BookaJob

BookaJob is operated by Christopher Laidlaw, a sole trader in Australia (ABN 73 534 083 065), registered for GST, trading under the marketplace name BookaJob. BookaJob is not a separate company.

You can contact the operator through BookaJob support at bookajobsupport@bookajob.au or by sending a support request through the app.

1. Independent providers

You use BookaJob as an independent business, not as an employee or agent of BookaJob. You are responsible for your own tax, ABN, and business obligations.

2. Licences, insurance and qualifications

You must hold every licence, registration, permit, qualification and insurance required by law for the work you offer to do, in the state where the work is done.

You must not claim to be licensed, insured or verified unless that is true.

3. Performance Score and fees

Each provider has a Performance Score from 0% to 100%, starting at 100%. It is influenced by completed jobs, reliability and confirmed customer outcomes. The contractor platform fee on new bookings depends on your score at the time of booking; bookings already made keep their agreed fee.

Only confirmed issues affect the score, and penalties may be reversed if BookaJob finds you were not responsible. A low score may lead to an account review. BookaJob may suspend listings that breach these terms.

4. Offers and pricing

Your offer price is what the customer pays for the service. Once an offer is accepted, the price cannot be changed on the platform.

5. Fees and payouts

A contractor platform fee (a percentage of the accepted service price) is deducted from your payout. Payouts are made through Stripe Connect after the customer confirms the job is complete, subject to any review.

BookaJob is registered for GST, and BookaJob's contractor platform fee includes GST where it applies. You are responsible for your own GST obligations: if you are registered for GST, your offer price must account for it, and BookaJob does not assume every provider is GST-registered.

6. Safety and conduct

You must carry out work safely, follow work health and safety laws, and treat customers with respect.

7. Off-platform payments

You must not ask customers to pay outside BookaJob for jobs found on the platform.

8. Complaints and disputes

Contact BookaJob support at bookajobsupport@bookajob.au or through a support request about any fee, payout, score or account decision. We will review it and reply through the support request.
